Election 2010

Election time! Which means every media hound in the country is straining at the leash like a corgi in heat. Here at the Tribune, we’ve decided that there’s very little point in us regurgitating the wisdom of the many far more knowledgeable folk up to their elbows in entrails, so we’re going to take a slightly different look at the election.
Firstly we’re going to cover the local (Melbourne Ports) candidates, find out who they are and write about their take on local issues as well as federal issues. As always, we’ll focus on facts, truth and smartarse remarks.
Secondly we’ll do a bit on how to vote properly (don’t draw a picture of a donkey’s arse on your ballot paper) and a run down of which senate terms are up in this election and how to put Steve Fielding last on your ballot paper - BELOW THE LINE PEOPLE!!
And finally, for all those poor folk who couldn’t give two shites about politics and are bored rigid by the whole election hysteria, we’ll find some other things to write about.
As always, anyone who has something to add to the general debate (or something to distract from it) This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it your article. If there’s no apostrophe abuse, and your hasn’t already been said 3000 times by the mainstream media we’ll publish you in our pre-election issue, available at all the usual places (plus a couple of train/train stops) 1 week before the election (deadline Monday 9th August).
